Break Time

It has been more than 20 days since i completed 5th trimester exams and no college since then (well almost) and this sudden change in routine from full day classes to no classes at all or for that matter nothing at all to do is not good for someone who is always trying to do something or the other to kill time. Now that there is absolutely nothing official to do
and I have all the time in this world it looks like life has reached a standstill after all how much can someone sleep during the day, for how long can someone watch tv , read a book or surf the internet.

Like someone once said "Khali Dimag Shaitan ka ghar" (Empty Mind is Devil's Workshop) when we are free we tend to think about the things we hold close to our heart, while some good memories bring a smile on the face, some haunt making us feel all the more awful and question every possible thing. (It is better i dont dwell into it more). A trip planned to Goa which was canned (and i hate this so much especially after i did a little shopping for it ), shopping for Sister's upcoming 1st wedding anniversary, reading mails especially wedding invites from School friends, College friends, Graduation friends& colleagues, and hunting a flat for a NRI friend is all that was happening. I felt the need for a break, a break from the day to day life and the feelings it brings at the end of the day.

Everyday most of us spend a major part of our time working in office, working at home & taking care of everyone else and forget the most important person in our lives- that is our own self (This is one of the things i learnt in Mba "If there is anyone most important in ur life it has to be you, everyone else come later"). With this thought in mind and a few other thoughts which were bothering me I thought of making the best use of this available time  for things will change once I start working again. After all it is not wrong to spend a little time for myself. Last 3 days have been an absolutely rejuvenating with my day starting with a ride to Lalbagh at 6.00 am to have a fresh tender cocunut before a 20 mins yoga session, followed by a 10 min Jog in the fresh air, a ride down to the National Swimming Pool to learn of course (This is something I have been wanting to do since my School days). The entire time spent in the pool and out is certainly very refreshing and a great appetiser, as i then directly go to the near by Shanti sagar and have a authentic south Indian breakfast after which I go to my driving School ,( literally tired of riding a 2 wheeler which i have been doing since the last 12 years so finally decided to get a 4 wheeler driving licence). The first 3-3.5 hrs of my everyday morning are spent in absolute solace and away from the whirlwind of everyday activities. What happens after that is just like a normal day in everybody Else's life but the start to the day is great to be able to take a small amount of time to relax, rejuvenate and bring balance back into life.

  1. Good Going Zor! Keep up the spirit and I definitely would like to see how the itenerary is progressing a fortnight from now. You know that's when the pace slacks, if you know what I mean. :)

Its funny thing you talk about free time. When I have all the time in the world I waste it watching away movies and doing nonsensical things forgetting about all things I love to do. When I am all tied up with work, deadlines I dream about having free time and mentally calculate all the things I need to do. Its a circle that I have never been able to come out of and I sincerely wish I can. That's me, though.

Anyways keep writing, keep jogging, keep driving and have loads of fun. :)

  2. Hey Karthik i completely understand when you say it is a circle. I have seen you work nonstop while at Satyam. Do take a break and go on a vacation.

I am also hoping that I keep up the pace and continue sparing time for myself, I am worth it :)
